The Engine House Cafe is currently open daily from 10:30am - 4pm. They are serving from the terrace located at the rear of the building with a mainly take-away offer, however limited seating is available on the terrace.
The cafe is registered to participate in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which offers a 50% discount on food and drink (up to a maximum of £10 discount per diner). This scheme is operating every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 3 and 31 August 2020.
The Larder runs the Engine House Cafe situated in the historic and locally-listed Engine House at the newly opened Walthamstow Wetlands. The cafe operates 363 days a year, and offers breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea including freshly made sandwiches, salads and seasonal dishes.
You can also expect an array of Larder favourites including Union hand-roasted coffee, speciality teas and freshly baked cakes from artisan bakers. The menu is changed regularly with a focus on quality wholefood ingredients from small local producers wherever possible.
Originally constructed in 1894 to house the steam engine which pumped water through the reservoirs and supplied, the Victorian Engine House is a locally-listed building.
The now beautifully restored Engine House Cafe offers plenty of seating within the exposed brick walls of the original building as well as an outside terrace offering stunning views over Walthamstow Wetlands and London.
The Engine House Cafe is also available to hire for private events. Combining modern amenities with original architectural features, it is a unique heritage destination.
Whether you are planning a corporate meeting, conference, wedding, reception or party, the Engine House Cafe can host private events for 10 – 120 people.
