We are delighted to welcome visitors to Walthamstow Wetlands, home to an abundance of wildlife, rich industrial heritage, and an important reservoir for London’s water. Walthamstow Wetlands is a £10.6m project led by Waltham Forest Council and partners thanks to funding from organisations including Heritage Lottery Fund, Thames Water and the Council.   Previously a largely hidden landscape, the Wetlands is London’s and Europe's largest urban wetland nature reserve. Thousands of people can now enjoy free access to a unique space where they can find relief from urban pressures and interact with nature. With open space, walking and cycling paths it supports active lifestyles and good mental health. This is a place to explore and relax, an oasis of calm in the heart of our city, whether observing wildlife, learning how our drinking water is delivered, or enjoying the hospitality of our Engine House gallery and café.  So explore, enjoy and connect with your better nature.
