wild life drawing: rabbits & guinea pigs easter workshops for families
Thursday 5th April; 11am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3pm
Celebrate a creative Easter with the family at Walthamstow Wetlands this April by meeting, drawing and learning all about friendly Rabbits and Guinea Pigs. We'll be welcoming furries of all different breeds and colours from Spitalfields City Farm, where they’ve been happily rehomed from South Essex Wild life Hospital. As well as drawing, we will be learning about the animals from the Farm Manager and discussing responsible pet ownership for children.
These classes are specially designed for families of all levels of ability, with drawing exercises to start and plenty of creative tips and encouragement throughout. The classes are suitable for children aged 5 and over and all children must be accompanied by an adult also taking part in the class.
play with clay: open studio with artist in residence
Friday 6th April
Wetlands Contemporary artist-in-residence Nisha Duggal invites you to a pop-up sculpture studio in the Turbine Room. Help her experiment with clay and other materials to create a collaborative installation of sculpted birds. During the workshop Nisha will take audio and visual recordings that may form part of a film installation to be presented at Walthamstow Wetlands in the spring.
Free event, all welcome
