Europe’s largest urban wetland nature reserve has hosted 12 beautiful weddings and civil ceremonies over the course 2019. Located just 15 minutes by tube from Central London, Walthamstow Wetlands has provided a special setting for these magical events with its 10 beautiful reservoirs and 211 hectares of wildlife-rich nature in the heart of an urban setting.
From festival-themed banquet tables on the outdoor Terrace and vibrant discos in the Boiler Room to exquisitely decorated ceremonies in the Turbine Room and rustic woodland-themed champagne receptions in the Mezzanine, weddings have ranged from 60 to 120 guests in the Engine House. This locally-listed building with its unique Victorian architecture, panoramic views of the city’s skyline and exposed brick walls has provided a range of flexible spaces to make wedding dreams come true.
Catering highlights from 2019 include the Larder's BBQ Garden Party, served out on the Terrace complete with Ice Cream Sundaes from their vintage trike. A popular favourite was also Turkish style Sharing Platters, perfect for couples wanting a relaxed, social wedding meal focused on good food and friends and forgetting the formalities.
If you are planning a wedding or civil ceremony in the next year or so, join us for the Wedding Open Evening on Sunday 1st March between 5-8pm. The Larder will be hosting the event, showcasing the venue and its potential to be the dream location for your wedding. The open evening will be the perfect opportunity to discuss dates and plans for your Big Day with a team of dedicated and experienced team event managers. Reserve your place online here.
